Lauren’s Fave’s: Bio Coffee & Lakanto Sweetener
BioCoffee is my new favorite morning beverage! I’ve tried every coffee substitute out there because I have an inflammatory, auto-immune condition, but I cannot believe how great it tastes!
I’m one of those people who keeps quitting coffee for a couple months and then inevitably picks it back up again. I just can’t quit all the way… BioCoffee has so many health perks that I won’t have to quit. It’s a blend of real coffee, wheatgrass, fiber and non-dairy creamer. I’m so sensitive that I thought for sure one of the ingredients wouldn’t agree with me, but the first morning I felt great after drinking it. You’ll want more than one cup, but start with just one & see how your body does to be safe. If you feel like you’re going to get a headache from caffeine withdrawal (BioCoffee is caffeine free), then mix it with half the amount of coffee you would normally drink. This is the only alkaline coffee on the market that actually helps you meet your recommended daily dose of vegetables!!!
Whether you’re ready to quit coffee or not, my favorite alternative to sugar is Lakanto.
It’s a derivative from Monk Fruit, and I found out about it from the book The Microbiome Diet by Dr. Kellman. I like the drops better than the granulated version because the crystals have erythritol which is a corn derivative. If you have auto-immune or digestive troubles, corn can be a real irritant. Stick with the drops which are easy to throw in your purse and take with you!
